SEASONAL OPPORTUNITIES:
Maintenance Technician (Position begins on 01/04/10)
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
RATE OF PAY: BOE
JOB STATUS: Seasonal / Hourly
JOB SUMMARY: Alabama Adventure is seeking an Attractions Maintenance Technician. Position will perform general and preventative maintenance and inspections on all amusement attractions and water rides at Alabama Adventure.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains mechanical aspects of park attractions to ensure that they operate safely and efficiently.
- Reads and understands inspection procedures.
- Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs.
- Responds to calls for maintenance checks and repairs.
- Inspects all attractions and completes daily checklists.
- Inspecting and troubleshooting ride equipment and controls; quickly and accurately evaluate and diagnose various electrical and control problems on domestic and foreign equipment. Must be able to read and understand electrical equipment and systems from engineered drawings, plans and verbal direction.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of six months experience in attractions maintenance preferred.
- High school diploma supplemented by three to five years of experience in mechanical/industrial maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Technical school (2 year degree) in related field preferred.
- Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures required.
- Ability to efficiently manage time and work without direct supervision.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of all phases of mechanical work including pneumatics, hydraulics, repair, overhaul and preventive maintenance.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to climb heights up to 300 feet.
- Ability to work independently / Must provide own tools
- Basic welding helpful.

HUMAN RESOURCES TRAINING COORDINATOR
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
RATE OF PAY: BOE
JOB STATUS: Seasonal / Hourly
REPORTS TO: Human Resources Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for coordinating and facilitating all team member orientations and training sessions. Responsible for all seasonal employee events and reward programs. Responsible for all aspects of wardrobe operation. Provide superior service to all Team Member.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Professionally represent Alabama Adventure to all applicants and Team Members.
- Assist in the design and development of the parks general orientation program.
- Facilitate all orientation classes for both new and returning team members.
- Oversee all aspects of wardrobe operations including, inventory, distribution, and payment processing.
- Assist Team Members with uniform purchases to ensure 100% grooming compliance.
- Oversee the coordination and execution of all seasonal Team Member events.
- Monitor and track information through various databases.
- Assist with employment processing of all hires.
- Assist with paycheck distribution.
- Answer all incoming telephone calls to HR/Wardrobe.
- Any other duties as assigned.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Some college course work preferred.
- Previous Human Resources experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience with MS Office Products including: Word, Excel, Power Point, & Access
- Ability to type 25 words per minute and basic Microsoft Office Skills Preferred.
- Must be a team player and must be able to communicate well with others.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to Frequently lift, carry, or otherwise move and position items and boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
- This position requires standing, walking, crouching, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, lifting, and pushing. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying climates.
